News 2011 Hunt Regulations The 2011 Big Game hunting seasons have not yet been set by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Scoping meetings are usually in February to lay out the state of the herd and determine the public's mood toward season proposals on mule deer, whitetail deer, elk, antelope, mountain lion and black bear. A few weeks later, the Department holds a series of meetings to on specific proposals. Those ideas are usually forwarded to the Fish and Game Commission for formal adoption. Based on the early information, the Department is expected to open deer seasons up even more, while continuing to restrict elk. As information is available, it will be posted here with links to Department data for closer examination if the reader desires. Have some news or information to report? |
