Our Mission Established in 1999, the Southeast Idaho Mule Deer Foundation is focused on ensuring these majestic animals remain a vital and beautiful part of the Idaho experience for both hunters and non-hunters alike. Promoting a wide range of conservation and other programs, the Southeast Idaho Mule Deer Foundation is concerned about our environment, our deer, and our natural resources as only local residents can be. Our newest project is the building of a fence along I-15 in the area south of Pocatello known as the Portneuf Gap and continuing to the city of Inkom. Hundreds of mule deer are killed in this area each year as they try to cross the Interstate. The fences are being built by a private contractor with assistance from members of the Foundation, Idaho Department of Transportation and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. If you would like to be involved in this important project to save mule deer, contact us Please take a look at our web site, and discover the many ways you, your family, or your business can get directly involved in ensuring the valuable legacy of Southeast Idaho's bountiful wildlife remains strong and healthy!
